About
Welcome to Comptoir Libanais Exeter, a delightful haven nestled in the heart of Queen St, Exeter. This vibrant eatery transports you straight to the streets of Lebanon with its warm ambiance, authentic flavors, and rich culinary heritage. Whether you are a lover of Middle Eastern cuisine or a curious food adventurer, there's something here for everyone.
One of the standout features of Comptoir Libanais is its extensive selection of hot drinks. Start your day with a classic Americano (£3.60) or indulge in something uniquely flavored, like the Tahina & Date Molasses Latte (£4.25), which artfully combines smooth espresso with the nutty richness of almond milk, date molasses, and tahina. And if you're in need of something refreshing, don’t miss out on the Fresh Rose Mint Tea (£3.95)—a fragrant blend of steeped green tea and fresh mint that perfectly balances sweetness with an aromatic twist.
The true stars of the menu lie in the mezze to share. Dive into the Cheese Samboussek (£7.95), where handmade pastry parcels ooze with melted cheese mingling beautifully with mint sauce. Alternatively, the Falafel (£7.75), crafted from crisp chickpeas seasoned with coriander and parsley, brings a crunch that is simply irresistible, especially when dipped in tahina sauce. Not to be missed is the Baba Ghanuj (£7.95), a smooth dip made from smoked aubergine that pairs perfectly with warm flatbreads—every scoop is a delight!
On Mezze Mondays, share a feast with friends that features a lavish platter (£37.50) designed for those who appreciate variety. This bountiful spread includes hommos, baba ghanuj, tabbouleh, falafel, natural labne, and the savory Cheese Samboussek accompanied by warm flatbread and pickles. It’s an experience that invites laughter, conversation, and a celebration of flavors.
With a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that burst with authenticity, Comptoir Libanais Exeter deserves a spot on your dining itinerary. Here, food isn't just sustenance; it's a joyous celebration of culture and community that invites you to slow down and enjoy together. So come, gather around the table, and let each dish tell its story.
“ Great tasty food with marvellous staff. I had the mixed grill which was loaded with meat, more than I expected. For dessert, I had the orange and almond cake which was divine, ”
“ While we having our drinks in Brewdog, ordered online some food because their food is just yummy and ca’t stop myself. Always lovely atmosphere with colours and decor. Service wasn’t good when there for takeaway food. Grab our food to sit somewhere and enjoy it. I love their maze platter. ”
“ I had a fantastic dining experience at Comptoir Libanais Exeter! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were exceptionally friendly especially our wonderful waiter, Jash, who was cheerful and attentive throughout. Between the two of us, we shared a real feast. We started with some olives, followed by a delicious mezze selection that included hommos, falafel, batata harra, and a rocket and bulgur salad. For the main course, we had the chicken shawarma, which was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. To finish, we treated ourselves to a brownie—surprisingly, it turned out to be one of the best brownies I’ve ever had! Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The venue is also stunning. I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back! ”

“ The first time we’ve been to Exeter and found this wonderful place. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I recommend the lamb tagine. We also had the salmon dish too. To start we had flat bread with the aubergine dip... delicious and to finish we had the orange panacotta type desert with figs and prune and golden sultana compote. Will come here again. Update Found that they have other outlets in London. Another great place ”
